Adaptations help certain organisms survive in certain environments. When an organism is well adapted to a certain environment, their chances of surviving and reproducing are increased. These organisms will pass on these adjustments to their offspring, ensuring the survival of their species. Without a certain adaptation to fit a certain environment, organisms can become vulnerable to the elements surrounding them.

Structural adaptations are the physical features of an organism.
